The vaccine doesn't hurt

Nationwide educational campaign

Scope of operation

„The vaccine doesn’t hurt” is a nationwide educational campaign created by the Polish Pharmacy Students’ Society, initiated by Joanna Oberska and Marianna Gajda.

Its mission is to disseminate reliable, scientifically based knowledge about vaccinations, combat myths and strengthen confidence in vaccinations as one of the most effective forms of health protection.

What's included:

  • Social education – infographics, posts and videos are published on social media (Facebook, Instagram) that explain issues related to vaccinations, their safety and myths.
  • Main week of action – an annual event lasting several days, during which an intensive information campaign is conducted and the organizers summarize the scope and effects of the activities.
  • Target groups – the campaign pays particular attention to primary school students (in higher grades) and secondary school students, but also broadly to the general public interested in the topic.
  • Campaign topics include Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM), verifying information online, ways to find reliable medical sources, and debunking popular anti-vaccination myths.

Goals of the campaign

  • Promoting vaccinations as an effective form of prevention against infectious diseases.
  • Increasing public awareness of the mechanisms of action of vaccines and their safety.
  • Disarming disinformation and myths circulating on social media.
  • Facilitating access to reliable medical knowledge among students and young people.
  • Building a critical attitude towards the consumption of medical content online.

Why is it worth getting involved?

  • Vaccinations are an investment in health – thanks to them, we can prevent diseases that were once common threats (e.g. polio, diphtheria).
  • Fighting disinformation – In a time when false information spreads rapidly, solid education is paramount.
  • Youth involvement – the campaign provides an opportunity to reach future generations with knowledge, building the foundations of a healthy approach to preventive healthcare.
  • Supporting scientific culture – disseminating EBM and critical thinking is crucial in the context of health debates in contemporary society.
