The theme of the 9th Congress of the Polish Pharmacy Students' Association, which will take place from September 11-14, 2025, in Warsaw, is "Microbiota – the goal of modern pharmacotherapy." Microbiota, the complex ecosystem of microorganisms that inhabit our bodies, plays a crucial role in maintaining health and the development of many diseases. In recent years, it has become one of the most important areas of research in medicine and pharmacy, opening new perspectives in the treatment of chronic, metabolic, and even mental illnesses.

During the Congress, we aim to introduce participants to the latest advances in microbiota research, such as probiotic, prebiotic, and synbiotic therapy, and gut microbiota transplantation (FMT). Lectures and workshops led by leading specialists will explore topics related to the impact of microbiota on drug metabolism, the potential for microbiome modulation in the treatment of chronic diseases, and the practical application of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics in pharmacy. We will also address the future of personalized microbiome-based pharmacotherapy.

The Congress also provides an opportunity to discuss the challenges posed to pharmacists by the rapidly evolving field of microbiota research.
