Due to ongoing civilizational and economic challenges, and the dynamic development of the medical and pharmaceutical sciences sector, the Polish Pharmaceutical Students' Association (PTSF) expresses its full and official support for the "3% for Science, 100% for Poland" initiative. As an organization of future healthcare, pharmaceutical, and scientific professionals, we recognize increasing funding for the Polish science sector to 3% of GDP as a key foundation for national security, drug sovereignty, and modern education. Funding for scientific development is not an ongoing expense, but a strategic investment in Poland's future and a key factor in building our international competitiveness.
Investing in Polish science is a direct investment in the development of medical personnel. For years, the Polish Pharmaceutical Students' Association has actively nurtured the professional and scientific achievements of its members by organizing nationwide scientific conferences and competitions for scientific papers. A significant number of our students pursue their passions and take their first steps in the world of science within the research clubs at their universities across the country. Our alumni, in turn, successfully pursue careers at Polish medical universities and leading research institutes, driving medical innovation in the country. Adequate funding for higher education and research is essential to stem the brain drain and provide young researchers with development prospects in their own country. The lack of a stable and robust financial base limits the infrastructural potential of universities, hinders the commercialization of research results, and blocks the path to creating the innovations Polish patients long for. A strong and well-funded research and development sector is the only way for Polish scientific thought to effectively compete with global centers.
At the same time, as a socially responsible organization, PTSF places great emphasis on the dissemination of knowledge. We conduct numerous classes and workshops in schools, instilling in the youngest generations a respect for science, rational thinking, and evidence-based medicine (EBM). We believe that a strong position for science in public discourse and its adequate funding will directly translate into increased health awareness across society.
As future pharmacists and scientists, we strongly appeal to decision-makers and society at large to support the "3% for science, 100% for Poland" initiative. Increasing funding for science is an uncompromising investment in Poland's future, guaranteeing our high position on the global innovation map and building a resilient, modern, knowledge-based state.
