Women's health is one of the key pillars of modern pharmaceutical care. Each stage of women's lives—from adolescence, through motherhood, lactation, menopause, and aging—brings unique health challenges, in which pharmacists play an increasingly important role. This very topic was the leitmotif of the 9th National Pharmaceutical Care Conference of the Polish Pharmacy Students' Society (PTSF), which took place from March 13-15, 2026, at the Faculty of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine of the Medical University of Białystok. It was organized by the PTSF Białystok Branch.
The event was held under the theme "A Pharmaceutical Portrait of Women: Analysis, Therapy, Prevention." Women are most likely to consult pharmacists, as they are the most accessible healthcare professionals. Topics such as hormonal contraception, the safety of OTC medications during pregnancy and lactation, pharmacotherapy for osteoporosis, and the prevention of thromboembolism are not just clinical issues; they represent the real needs of women, requiring reliable, professional, and empathetic education.
The conference featured a series of inspiring lectures, culminating in a panel discussion titled: "Pharmacovigilance in the Internet Age - How Information, Media, and Market Threats Shape Women's Treatment Choices." Afterward, conference participants participated in valuable workshops and soft skills training.
